Group
is engaged in imports and marketing of commodities and is located
in the city of Calcutta - the gateway of eastern India having
population of above 250 million in a radius of 500 kms. Locationally
the city of Calcutta happens to be the only port and international
airport in the region which has facility to service near 25% population
of the country as well as the neighbouring countries of Nepal,
Bangladesh, Bhutan.
Group was started in 1959 - 60 by Mr.. M P Mansinghka and is now
engaged in imports of edible oils, oils & fats and sugar and export
of edible oils in small packs, wheat flour and marketing of small
packs of cooking oils and edible oil in its own brand. Group has
facility, infrastructure for handling, storing, warehousing, financing
and marketing commodities and has obtained ISO 9002 to service
consumers & buyers and render to them its services in transparent
manner with sincerity.
1) To start with the company started marketing & trading in cotton
and waste fibre known as cotton linters. Above was started in
1959 - 60. Group added marketing of vanaspati ghee i.e. Hydrogenated
vegetable fat.
2) Mr. Raju Mansinghka joined his father (founder of the group),
Mr. M P Mansinghka in 1972 and company started international operation
in 1977. Became the pioneer importer for pulses.
In 1978-79 company became one of the pioneer importer of edible
oils, fats & fatty acids and on date is reckoned as one of the
oldest and continuing importer of oils & fats in the country.
Group during 1985 became the first importer of timber logs and
became instrumental to bring first cargo of timber logs at ports
of Calcutta, Kandla, Tuticorin and Madras (Chennai).
Group may state that it was 1st in the country as a trading house to get it's system audited for ISO(1999 - 2002) and now as Group has entered into manufacturing it's in the process of getting the manufacturing facility certified for "HACCP" and other requisite certifications.
Today company has set-up an updated Refinery-cum-Processing Unit in South of Calcutta i.e. a Refinery for refining of Refined Rice Bran Oil and making of Interesterified Fats, and modern day cooking medium which is low on Transfat.
The facility is located 34 kms South of Calcutta on Diamond Harbour Road and within the same compound has facility for Tin making, Refining, making of Interesterified Fats, Packing, and soon has plans to go for expansion towards (a) Refining of Glycerine & (b) making of Bio-diesel.

"I come of a middle class family from Rajasthan, had education in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Bombay, when my friend Late Ruliram chokani with whom I stayed for 3 years sent me to Calcutta in 1956 with wife and son Raju then aged 3 years. I then had Rs. 135 only with me and took up a job, worked hard, had good promotions. Thus in 1959-60 I thought of giving up the job and took to own business of marketing and brokerage.
Sometime in 1964 I reformed a H.U.F. and started business of trading into cotton waste, raw cotton, cotton linters and established "Mansinghka Sons". Raju joined me in business in 1973.
The activity of Mansinghka Sons consists of trading, marketing, commission agents, importers, exporters in line of edible oils, fats, fatty acids, timber, pulses and have established some Companies like Cosy (India) Ltd. & Mansi Oils & Grains Pvt Ltd. - a plant for packaging of edible oils in consumer packs.
Having a good spell with no regrets and no complaints, it is now over to Raju to carry on the same tradition of sincerity, commitment and to keep on the right side of the law.
It is satisfying to sit back and see that he is carrying on well and have attained a good turn over, of over Rs.250 crores per annum and is conscious of standards of management and quality."
